Why doesn't Urban Alarm require a long-term contract while other companies do?
We hear stories all the time of customers who are "locked-in" to long-term contracts with companies that are not responsive. We assume we need to earn your business every day. When a company has you on a long-term contract they can afford to provide average service (or worse).
I want my system monitored for the next five years, so why not sign a five year long-term contract?
You may be sure you want your security system monitored for the next five years so why not sign a long-term contract? Because you want to choose WHO does that monitoring. Most likely, the same company who does your monitoring will also do your servicing. If you are not happy with that company, we believe you should be able to change to someone else.
How will my service be different when I switch?
Urban Alarm will provide the highest quality monitoring and dispatch services. You may also choose to have complete control of your system through a Web browser from anywhere on the Internet. We guarantee same day response for service calls, in certain zip codes, for calls that come in before 9AM. What if I want to switch to Urban Alarm to monitor my alarm system but I currently have a long-term contract with another company?
Please check your agreement status with your current company first. Unfortunately you may have to wait until your contract expires with your current company until you switch over, or you may be subject to an early termination fee and/or other penalty fees. If you just signed a contract you may be able to terminate it within a few days of signing. Or, if the company is not responding to your needs or keeping the system functional you may have cause for terminating your agreement and be free to transfer monitoring to Urban Alarm.
What if I want to switch away from Urban Alarm in the future?
We want you to stay with us because you are satisfied and happy with our service. In fact, we are not happy unless you are thrilled with us. If, for any reason, you are not satisfied, you can switch to someone else. You own the equipment and we do not "lock" it like many companies. It can monitored by another security company of your choice. That being said, we pledge to do our utmost to retain you as a happy Urban Alarm customer.
I don’t use my existing security system because I am not sure how to use it. What will switching to Urban Alarm do to change that?
A security system is worthless if you don't use it. The number one reason why people don't use their systems is because they are not working properly or because people find their systems to difficult to update. When we design a system, we listen to your specific concerns and needs. We will install a system that is easy to use. We will support you to be sure you are trained and comfortable with its operation. We can add, remove, or change access codes for you with our guaranteed next day updates. Our Alarm.com systems are easily updated using a simple and secure Web browser.
