Montgomery County
Alarm Registration
You will need to register any alarm system where the alarm company may dispatch the police. Urban Alarm will provide you with a Registration Form and a completed and signed Installation Certificate. You must then deliver or mail the Registration Form to the Police Department for approval. See below for contact information and mailing addresses.
Montgomery County charges a $30 registration fee for the registration of each alarm system. You will need to renew your registration every 2 years at a cost of $10. If you do not renew your registration, you will be penalized more heavily for false alarms under the False Alarm Reduction Section (FARS) code.
False Alarm Response (FAR)
The False Alarm Response Section of the Montgomery County Police Department was created to decrease the number of police dispatches due to false alarms. In order to counterbalance this loss of police resources, the Montgomery County of Police has instituted the following fee schedule for false alarms. The Occurrence counter resets at the beginning of each calendar year.

Prince George's County
Alarm Registration
Prince George's county allows you to download a PDF of both their residential alarm registration form and the commercial form. There is no fee to register residential alarm systems in Prince George's County and there is a $50 fee to register commercial systems. Instructions for form submission are located on the top of the first page of each form.
False Alarm Reduction Unit (FARU)
False Alarm Reduction information is located on the fourth page of each form. The scale for the residential False Alarm Reduction Unit (FARU) is as follows:

Anne Arundel County
Alarm Registration
To register your residential or commercial alarm system in Anne Arundel County, you can download and print the PDF and mail or fax it to the address or fax number at the top of the form. There is no fee for residential or commercial registration.
False Alarm Reduction
Anne Arundel County's False Alarm Reduction information is located here, however this is a new law and as of September 22, 2009 the Anne Arundel Police Department indicated that it is not being strictly enforced. Please see the fee schedule for a 12-month period for residential properties below:

Baltimore County
Alarm Registration
You must register your alarm system before it is placed into service. Urban Alarm will provide you with the installation certificate and the burglar alarm registration form and lead you through the submission process. Frederick County
Alarm Registration
Frederick County requires each alarm user to download and submit 2 copies of the residential form or commercial form by mail or fax. There is a $30 registration fee for both residential and commercial systems.
False Alarm Reduction Unit (FARU)
Residential false alarm fines are imposed by the Frederick County FARU based on the following fee schedule for one calendar year. The fines for commercial systems can be found on pages 3 and 4.

Carroll County
Alarm Registration
There is no longer an alarm registration system in Carroll County so you are not required to register your alarm system, either commercial or residential.
